Hello,
My name is Kiera Thomas and Im a Junior Healthcare Administration major. Today was our second day of work here in Joplin, MO and it was alot different from yesterday's task. Today we were working in the clothing tent outside of the Joplin Family Worship Center and we basically sorted through a ton of bins. Our main goal was to make it easier for the families or people who would be coming to get clothing from the tent. We put some of the clothing on hangers and labeled them by size and gender. While we were in the tent working, I couldn't only help but to be mindful of lucky and blessed I am. I couldn't imagine how it feels to have to go into a clothing shelter and pick out clothing because I didn't have any. Today really showed me that Joplin still needs help and is still recovering. I realized that the storm had an effect on women, men, and children who all are in need and I was just glad that I was able to help out.
